Code of Conduct
This code of conduct is adhered to by Tom Charlton and all photographers & staff he employs.
Introduction
Most events, by their nature, are in the public arena and when taking part in public events such as parades, presentations, displays etc or entering for sporting competitions, the participant acknowledges this fact, and that at least professionally approved photographers may take photographs. The vast majority of people involved in such activities derive interest and pleasure from the photos captured by and from the enjoyment shown by the participants Tom Charlton Photography will take all reasonable precautions to protect participants against the possible inappropriate use of photographic images.
In respect of children or young people we believe that we have a duty of care to safeguard all children from harm and will ensure the safety and protection of all children at events where we are in attendance through adherence to the below statement of policy:-
Photographers & Staff
1. Will only attend an event in an official capacity where invited to do so by the organisers
2. Adhere to this policy and conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times
3. Must not have unsupervised access to young people
4. Will undertake the appropriate enhanced CRB check
5. Must be easily identified by wearing their company identification badge at all times
Photographs
6. All children photographed must be appropriately dressed for the sport in which they are participating.
7. Where a participant removes any item of clothing photos must not be taken
8. Must be in good taste and in keeping with the event taking place

9. All images are protected from download as far is technically possible at the time of publication
10. Tom Charlton Photography will remove any images on request by sending an email to info@tomcharltonphotography.co.uk
We endeavour to work within the guidelines issued by the organisations or sporting bodies relevant to the event that is taking place and being photographed either on our own behalf or on behalf of the official organisers.
